Located on the eastern coast of Central America, Belize is bordered by Guatemala, Mexico and the Caribbean. Although Spanish and Belizean Creole are commonly spoken, its official language is English. The school year generally starts in September and continues through the end of June. Students have breaks at Christmas and Easter as well as a summer holiday that lasts about nine or ten weeks.
