The nation has a longstanding industrial sector, but in recent years has become a major financial hub. It is the second largest investment fund center in the world and the most important private banking center in Europe. Many Internet start-ups base their regional headquarters in Luxembourg and the government hopes to continue to attract businesses of all types.
